Our Primary Purpose

October 2021

Highlights from the October 2021 Issue:

This issue explores how A.A. continues to adapt in response to the pandemic and what a “new normal” looks like. The feature article, “A new normal – what is that? A.A. just keeps adapting, to help those who suffer”, highlights how groups are embracing hybrid models, maintaining both in-person and virtual meetings to better support members. It emphasizes inclusivity, accessibility, and a willingness to expand service to meet evolving needs.

The editorial, “There is NO finish line” by Jeff F, draws a parallel between COVID-19 and recovery, reinforcing that both require ongoing effort and vigilance. It challenges complacency and reminds members that recovery is a continuous process rather than a destination.

Additional content includes archival history of the Fellowship Group (founded 1961), reflections in “A Member Shares: But for the grace of God” by Nadia S., and service opportunities within Intergroup. The issue reinforces that A.A.’s “tent just gets bigger,” with accessibility and adaptability as key themes.
