Our Primary Purpose

November 2025

Highlights from the November 2025 Issue:

This issue reflects on fellowship, gratitude, and the transition into the holiday season, with a strong emphasis on connection through service and shared experience. A message from the Eastern Ontario Fall Conference Committee highlights the spirit of unity and the impact of coming together in recovery.

“The Gratitude List” by Jason M. explores gratitude as a daily practice, emphasizing small, consistent actions that help shift perspective and support ongoing emotional sobriety.

“Tradition Eleven” by Joe F. reflects on anonymity, fear, and the search for acceptance, examining how personal and group behaviours can drift toward self-promotion and how the Traditions help guide a return to humility and principle.

“The Fruits We Bear” by Neil shares a story of early recovery, friendship, and loss, highlighting the lasting impact of mentorship and the responsibility to carry the message forward.

“The Geography of Quiet” by Neil offers a more reflective, symbolic piece on recovery, focusing on listening, letting go, and trusting the process of change.

“Initial Impressions of A.A.” by Paul P. presents a practical and accessible look at early recovery through familiar sayings and mnemonics, illustrating how simple tools can guide sobriety.

Service remains a central theme throughout the issue, with opportunities highlighted for the Telephone Answering Service and other Intergroup roles.

Upcoming events include Alkathon 2025 and the Ottawa Spring Conference, encouraging members to stay connected, participate, and carry the message into the holiday season.
