Highlights from the June 2026 Issue:

This issue celebrates service in all its forms, with personal stories, historical reflections, and a strong call to get involved ahead of Ottawa Service Day.

In “My Experience With Ottawa Service Day”, Tamara G. shares how attending the event helped her see A.A.’s service structure as approachable and find where she might fit in. A companion piece, “Ottawa Service Day 2026 Call to Sponsors!”, from Districts 62 and 54 encourages sponsors to bring their sponsees and experience service as a natural extension of the 12th Step.

In “Our History, The Present, Our Future”, Darlene K. reflects on the May 16 Archives Workshop in Ottawa, sharing discoveries including that a priest started the first A.A. meeting in Ottawa in 1946 and a Serenity Prayer crafted by inmates at Joyceville Penitentiary in 1950.

In “Tradition and Tolerance, Reflections on Closing with the Lord’s Prayer, Part VII”, Stephan P. continues the series with practical guidance on how groups can approach sensitive meeting customs through informed group conscience and spiritual humility.

In “One Program, Many Pathways”, Doris Mc. reflects on 38 years of sobriety and finding her place in A.A. through Ottawa’s secular meetings.

The issue also includes announcements for the Vanier Round-Up and Ottawa Service Day (June 13), Chelsea Round-Up (July 18), and the Eastern Ontario Fall Conference “The Main Taproot” (October 16-17), along with open Intergroup service positions for Treasurer and Newsletter Editor.
