December 2024
Highlights from the December 2024 Issue:
This Alkathon Edition focuses on connection, service, and staying sober through the holiday season. The theme, “The Gift of Sobriety,” highlights the importance of fellowship and creating inclusive, welcoming spaces during a time that can be difficult for many.
“Step 12: Prayer & Meditation” by D.L. reflects on carrying the message and maintaining a spiritual awakening through daily practice, service, and continued connection to the program.
“2025: Looking Forward” by Joe F. explores fear, relationships, and self-awareness, drawing on Big Book insights to highlight the role of gratitude, respect, and spiritual maintenance in recovery.
“Richness” and “We Share This Life Together” by CJT offer short, reflective pieces on gratitude, presence, and connection, emphasizing that recovery is lived one day at a time and that no one is alone.
“The Freebird and the Unsolicited Life Coach: A Tale of Direction and Debates” by Neil presents a thoughtful and lightly humorous reflection on ego, direction, and the difference between reaction and purposeful living.
The issue also highlights Alkathon 2024, including opportunities to volunteer, host meetings, and contribute, reinforcing the role of service in creating a safe and supportive holiday environment.
Service remains a central theme throughout, with ongoing needs for the Telephone Answering Service and Intergroup roles.
Upcoming events include Alkathon gatherings, Gratitude Night, and regional roundups, encouraging members to stay connected, supported, and engaged through the holiday season.
