Our Primary Purpose

December 2021

Highlights from the December 2021 Issue:

This issue focuses on navigating the holiday season in sobriety and the importance of service. The feature article, “Staying sober over Christmas: It helps to be strategic”, shares Michelle’s experience of maintaining sobriety during the holidays through planning, mindfulness, and shifting focus from self to service. It emphasizes acceptance, presence, and finding meaning beyond traditional expectations.

The editorial, “Being present at Christmas” by Jeff F, explores the challenges of family dynamics and social pressures during the holidays. It encourages acceptance, emotional presence, and bringing a spirit of service into family interactions rather than trying to control situations.

Additional content highlights Intergroup service opportunities and elections, a detailed overview of the Corrections Facilities & Treatment (CFT) Committee by Luc C., and an archival piece on the history of the Ottawa Alkathon. The issue reinforces that the greatest gift during the holidays is sobriety and connection through fellowship.
