Our Primary Purpose

April 2022

Highlights from the April 2022 Issue:

This issue focuses on service and participation at the Intergroup level, with a strong call to action for members to step into roles that directly support the fellowship. The feature article, “When you put some ‘Spring’ in your step”, follows Dick G. as he prepares to chair the 2022 Ottawa Spring Conference. His experience highlights how simply showing up—without expectations—can lead to meaningful connection, including unexpectedly finding a new sponsor through the conference.

The editorial, “Making a difference” by Jeff F, emphasizes the life-saving importance of 12-Step work and telephone answering service. It reinforces that service is not a burden but a privilege, and that helping others is central to maintaining sobriety. The issue includes a strong appeal for volunteers to take on roles such as 12-Step Coordinator and Board Secretary.

Additional content includes full details and schedule for the 2022 Spring Conference, service role descriptions for virtual participation (greeters, moderators, “spiritual bouncers”), and an A.A. Archives feature on the Hand in Hand Group, founded in 1977. The issue reinforces that service, connection, and participation are essential to keeping A.A. strong.
