CFT Committee (Corrections Facilities & Treatment) is looking for members: Carrying the message to alcoholics
in a correction or treatment facility is basic Twelfth Step work, an opportunity to practice Step 12. We strongly recommend a minimum of 2 years of sobriety, knowledge of our Steps and Traditions and of course a willingness to carry the message. This committee coordinates meetings held within facilities and also coordinates a Bridging the Gap (BTG) program that helps connect people with meetings and direct support from AA members when they are leaving corrections or treatment facilities and moving back into the community. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to get involved. You can also use our committee contacts form at https://ottawaaa.org/contact-us.
Contacts needed for Badge of Courage and Nomads Meetings: Intergroup is looking for contacts to take referral calls from the Telephone Answering Service (TAS) for people looking for meetings for Police Officers or Firefighters (Badge of Courage) or for Lawyers or other Officers of the Court (Nomads). Contacts working in these areas should ideally have 2 years of sobriety. If interested, please contact email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
